2012

2012 is a collaboration of multiple Detroit area faith and community-based organizations including the Detroit Police Department, Detroit Public Schools, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Youth Development Commission, Detroit Recreation Department, Wayne County Juvenile Justice Department. Our objective is to reduce the presence of violence in the lives of Detroit’s children and youth and suppress gang activities and membership throughout the Detroit area.

There are four (4) developmental phases for 2012. They are:

1. Research, Building Community Will and Engagement, and Project Design Coalition Building, Volunteer Recruitment and Training
2. The Official Launch of 2012 “A Day Without Violence”
3. 2012 Community Collaborative Implementation and Operations
